BRIEF SCOPE OF WORK
(This is for information only)
It is the intent of the Government for the Contractor to provide laundry and linen services for the Veterans Administration located at 210 S Winchester Ave, Miles City, MT 59301. The services shall consist of but are not limited to the following: Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, linen (under the linen contract) and supplies to manage and perform all operations for the laundry and linen services.
The contractor shall pick up the soiled laundry from a designated area at the Miles City facility 2-3 times per week with like delivery service for the return of clean laundry. Station laundry includes but is not limited to wash cloths, bath towels/blankets, and all bedding to include sheets and spreads/comforters. Residents' personal laundry includes but is not limited to pants, shirts and all undergarments. Some personal items may require ironing with separate pricing.
A percentage of the laundry/linen from these facilities shall be classified as contaminated and shall be handled accordingly. All workmanship shall be in accordance with the best practices of the laundry/linen industry.
SPECIFICATIONS-- LAUNDRY:
Clean laundry shall be processed, packaged and protected from contamination in accordance with the policy of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.
INVENTORY: The Contractor shall assume responsibility for any damaged or lost articles at their place of business and will guarantee the return of such articles to the Government in as good a condition as received. Any variation of quantities returned greater than 15% will require reimbursement from the Contractor to the Government. A fair value of the article lost or damaged will be determined by the Government and shall be reimbursed by the Contractor. This includes damage through improper use of chemicals, excessive heat or improper handling methods.
The contractor shall provide the government with some type of system/checklist/tool for keeping track of the number and types of articles leaving the facility to be laundered so that the Government may track the number and types of articles returning to the facility.
CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Contractor shall obtain all necessary licenses and/or permits required to perform this work. The contractor shall follow all applicable state laws and regulations. Should circumstances arise that would significantly affect the scope of the contract or possibility inhibit the Contractor from performing the services described in this contract, the Contractor shall immediately submit in writing to the Contracting Officer a request for change in accordance with FAR 52.212-4. Upon receipt of such requests, the Contracting Officer will work with the Contractor to obtain a fair and reasonable solution.
